

This level takes place in an underwater cavern, where a Cheep Chomp is persistently trying to eat Mario. 2, and is similar to 7-7 from Super Mario Bros. This level has a Layer-Cake Desert setting, where the player must hit P Switches to turn coins into Brick Blocks in order to progress it is similar to the first course in the Nerve-Wrack Pack released as DLC for New Super Mario Bros. It is set in a place similar to Acorn Plains. This is the second and last level to have Spine Coasters, preceded by Thrilling Spine Coaster. Like Rock-Candy Mines and Peach's Castle, there are no Enemy Courses.

There are a total of nine levels in this world, eight of which are only accessible by collecting all the Star Coins from each world while the last one can be unlocked by completing all other Superstar Road levels with three Star Coins collected. Wii, Propeller Mushrooms and Penguin Suits, can be found. This is the only world where two of the power-ups from New Super Mario Bros. The portal is on an island in the borders of Layer-Cake Desert, Sparkling Waters, Frosted Glacier and Soda Jungle, and can only be accessed via a pipe after completing the game. Superstar Road is an homage to Star World from Super Mario World, while its name references the Star Road-esque portal used to access it. It is similar to World 9 from New Super Mario Bros.

U, New Super Luigi U, and New Super Mario Bros. Superstar Road is the ninth and final world of New Super Mario Bros.
